For ladies golf apparel, Bermuda shorts or capris are a popular option for the summer, with long pants in cooler weather. Do not wear shorts that are high above the knee. “Skorts”, or skirts with concealed shorts underneath, are also a fashion option.

For men, long pants it the safest choice. Pants should have belt loops, and you should wear a leather belt. If it’s very hot and you must wear shorts, wear khaki-type shorts that are long- no higher than the knee. Do not ever wear any kind of gym shorts or cut-offs on the golf course.

Denim, as a general rule, is outlawed on the golf course and the country club. It doesn’t matter if it’s dark blue, white, or pink- keep it at home. Think classy, people.

Part of your golf equipment is also a hat. The right hat helps to keep the sun out of your eyes, which is imperative in the game of golf! A baseball hat or straw golf hat are both fine. A visor is another popular choice, especially for ladies.

Don’t overlook your feet! Shoes are just as much a part of proper golf equipment. Don’t wear sneakers on the course. This gives away that you are a novice. Choose dressier golf shoes, in white, saddle, or a dark color. Make sure your socks match.
