“I have used the new Nike SQ Sumo 5000 driver for 36 holes and the results have been positive. I had been using the Nike SQ Sumo for the past year and liked it but wanted to see what was new this season. I actually started out with the Nike SQ Sumo2 Square driver. I tried two lofts (13 and 10.5) and while it hits straight and has a much more muted sound than last year’s version — I did not feel there was good feedback on how solidly the ball was struck. I took them both back and got the SQ Sumo 5000 last week. It is not a lot different in distance to the previous model but I believe hits the ball straighter. I am using a 10.5 degree, A shaft (senior). I am a short hitter usually at about 210 to 220 off the tee, averaging between 13 and 15 handicap. The sound at impact is pleasing — shots for me normally fly straight to a slight draw. I have let some of my friends try it and it honestly seems impossible to hit a really bad drive. There are lots of choices out there but I am happy with the new Sumo 5000.”
